Reading contests for kids at SugarBun outlets

KUCHING: SugarBun will be organising reading contests for children aged five to seven at its selected outlets in Sarawak as part of promoting the Education Ministry’s ‘Dekad Membaca 2020-2030’ campaign.

The selected outlets are Borneo Asian Food by SugarBun Sibujaya in Sibu on August 14 and Borneo Asian Food by SugarBun in Kuching on August 17.

By purchasing one SugarBun Kids Meal per registration, the competition is open to the
public and registration forms are available at the hosting outlets from July 20.

The contest aims to nurture the reading culture among children. SugarBun is also giving away free Hello Animals, a first science storybook with any purchase of SugarBun Kids Meal from July 20 until August 18 at all SugarBun participating outlets.

During the promotion, customers are able to collect three different ‘Hello Animals’ titles during the specific dates — ‘The Hardworking Ants’ on July 20, ‘The Happy Baby Elephant’ on July 30, and ‘The Beautiful Butterfly’ on August 9 while stock lasts.

Supported by Mobile APP and created and published by Pelangi Publishing, the books are the first of their kind made by Malaysians and designed to assist young children to explore the wonders of science and to encourage discussions about facts, the equipped augmented reality features assist children to read and learn in a fun way.
