Rebecca Minkoff has teamed up with the online personal styling service Stitch Fix on a new size-inclusive fashion collection. The US designer has launched Stitch Fix x Rebecca Minkoff, an eight-piece capsule designed for a range of body types, as reported by WWD.
The series, which runs in sizes XXS to 3X and 00 to 24 W, made its debut during the Rebecca Minkoff presentation during New York Fashion Week this past weekend, and is now available exclusively from Stitch Fix. It spans fashionable separates that put an easy, contemporary spin on work-appropriate wardrobe solutions.
Minkoff shared photos from the presentation with her Instagram followers, saying: “Sizing for all. We’re proud to partner with @stitchfix to make this dream a reality.”
The creative also spoke to WWD about the need for more inclusive sizing in the fashion industry, saying: “Just take America, for example. Where the average size is a 12-plus for women. And then you take a look at who’s offering that to women and making them feel great and making them feel like they have designer offerings to choose from. It’s very small.”
Inclusive sizing, however, is gradually making its way into the world of high fashion. In April, the US brand Rodarte teamed up with the retailer Universal Standard to launch a capsule fashion series in sizes 00 through 40, while Jason Wu teamed up with plus-size brand Eloquii for the second time back in March on a 26-piece spring capsule collection. – Relaxnews
