KUCHING: Sarawak Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom responded positively to Sarawak’s record-breaking revenue of RM11.9bil for the fiscal year 2022.

As a Sarawakian, he said he was proud of the achievements by the Sarawak government under the able and visionary leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“He was taking not only bold but right decisions to enable Sarawak to achieve such incredible success in such a short period, especially in terms of our revenue reengineering,” he told New Sarawak Tribune.

He said this in response to Abang Johari’s remarks that the state’s actual revenue performance for the fiscal year 2022 exceeded its predicted income by 17 per cent, from RM10.2bil to RM11.9bil.

This, said Dr Rundi, would ensure a brighter future for Sarawak.

To note, in comparison to the financial year 2018 (RM7.2bil), the revenue performance for 2022 increased by 65 per cent.
