Rehearsal for TYT’s birthday do

KUCHING: A rehearsal was done for the upcoming 85th birthday celebration of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.

It was held on Thursday (Oct 7) at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly complex, according to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

This year’s celebration will be held in a smaller scale and according to Covid-19 prevention standard operating procedures.

Present to monitor the preparations were Assistant Native Laws and Customs Minister Datuk John Sikie Tayai, Assistant Education and Rural Electricity Minister Datuk Liwan Lagang and Assistant Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee.

Among the main attractions this year would be the guard of honour by the Armed Forces and Police, the ceremonial firing of the cannon, as well as a fly-past by a Royal Malaysian Air Force formation.
