SERIAN: The Serian Islamic Religious Office and Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak Office will be fully operational starting this January 4, said Sarawak Islamic Council president Datuk Misnu Taha.
According to him, a branch office was set up in the area to facilitate and speed up service delivery to the Muslim community around Serian.
“So far, they (the Muslims in Serian) have to deal with the Serian district office or the Samarahan branch office to get help or services related to religion.
“When completed, this branch office will offer several services including marriage, ‘Program Mengukuhan Tradisi Keilmuan’, ‘Program Memantapkan Kebajikan Ummah’, ‘Program Pembangunan Institusi Islam’ and many more,” he said when officiating at the Serian Islamic Religious Office and Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak Serian branch office here, today.
Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak Serian branch will operate using the address Sublot 29, Parent Lot 666, Serian town District, Serian Bypass Road, 94700 Serian while the Serian Islamic Religious Office will use the address Sublot 31 & 32, Parent Lot 666 , Serian town District, Serian Bypass Road, 94700 Serian.
Also present at the event were Serian Resident Tuah Suni and Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak Serian branch head Ustaz Masanal Bolkiah Mohen.
