LUNDU: Religious education is important especially in this digital era as borderless exposure to information at one’s fingertips requires monitoring and religious knowledge to avoid being negatively influenced when browsing social media.

Tanjung Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said this when officiating at the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and Primary 6 and Pre-School appreciation ceremony at Kampung Rambungan Lundu Hall here on Friday (Feb 25).

“For students who will step into secondary school, the situation will be different. Nevertheless, I hope that the students will study hard and become educated and useful to the community.

“I was informed that SK Rambungan is among the best schools in Tanjung Datu with 100 per cent passing rate and all the students to continue their studies,” he said.

He advised students with less interest in academic learning to enrol at the Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) in Lundu.

“Parents can send their children there to learn technical skills such as welding, sewing, and so on, so they can earn an income with these skills one day,” said Azizul.
