Remains of Malaysian embassy official in Bangkok laid to rest

KAJANG: The remains of Minister Counsellor (Economic Affairs) at the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok, Fadzilah Abu Hasan, were laid to rest at 9.50 pm at the Raudhatul Jannah Khariah Cemetery, Kampung Limau Manis, Kajang here.

The funeral prayer was conducted at Masjid Jawa in Bangkok at 8 am local time on Monday. The body arrived here at about 5.30 pm yesterday and another funeral prayer was conducted at Surau Al-Ikhwan, Desa Pinggiran Putra at about 7.45 pm. 

Hundreds of colleagues, relatives and friends attended the burial to pay their final respects to the deceased, described as dedicated and a source of inspiration due to her cheerful and lively nature in the workplace.

Fadzilah, 46, was believed to have died in her sleep at her condominium in Bangkok at 6 am last Monday.

Fadzilah who was posted to the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok since Dec 2022 leaves behind two daughters aged 18 and 15. – BERNAMA
