Rentap thanks everyone for his PSBS award

KUCHING: Layar assemblyman Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu has thanked the residents in the Layar constituency and in Betong for his recent Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS) award.

“This award is for all of you, loyal friends, who have given me support, advice and prayers as well as faith in the journey of my struggle throughout this time.

“This is also for my relatives, friends as well as family members and the general public, especially the residents of Layar state constituency and Betong.

“Hopefully, this recognition gives us strength, confidence and inspiration to continue together to develop Sarawak,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday (Oct 10). 

Rentap also thanked Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud who conferred him the Datukship award in conjunction with the latter’s 85th birthday celebration.

“Dirgahayu Tun and may he be given a long life and his whole family be blessed by the Almighty,” he said.

The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth chief also thanked Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, the PBB leadership and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government.

“This is for their support and encouragement to me as an elected representative.

“Thank you and my family and I pray that we are all given health, wisdom and unity in delivering the best service for Sarawak,” he said.

Rentap was among the 17 individuals who were conferred the PSBS award by Taib during the ceremony on Saturday.

The 17 PSBS award recipients included national diver Pandelela Rinong, Senator Zaiedi Suhaili, Senator Dr Nuing Jeluing and Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner Mancha Ata.
