KUCHING: A Sarawak assemblyman was allegedly attacked on Gawai Eve (May 31).
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri, when contacted last night, confirmed the case.
“Yes, the person involved is an assemblyman,” he said.
It was made to understand that the victim, who sustained injuries, lodged a police report after he was allegedly attacked.
The case is still under investigation and efforts to track down the suspect is ongoing.
The public are urged to refrain from making any speculations that can affect police investigations.
At the time of writing, the identity of the assemblyman is unknown and the extent of his injuries is uncertain.
