LUNDU: Roads and   proper drainage systems may be built for the paddy farmers in  Kampung Tebaro in  Sibaukng in future.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) in a news report, Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang revealed this when attending the Let’s Harvest Programme organised by the Kampung Tebaro-Jampari Management Committee recently.

Billy visited the paddy fields in the village on March 16.

He said the farmers  had the potential to become part of a paddy scheme, just like  the Tanjung Purun DID paddy Scheme in Lundu.

He agreed that the paddy fields, which belonged to farmers from six surrounding villages, were in dire need of roads and  more systematic drainage systems.

Political secretary to the Premier and chairman of the Kampung Tebaro-Jampari Management Committee Niponi Undek urged the paddy farmers  to work together to ensure smooth planning of  the development projects in the area.
