SIMANGGANG: Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis on Saturday (Apr 24) conducted a site visit to the Kampung San cemetery proposed road and parking lot upgrading project, which is under the rural transformation programme (RTP).

“The cemetery, which is shared among eight longhouses, is in dire need of upgrading as the current road condition makes it difficult for funeral arrangements to be conducted, especially during the rainy season.

“The distance from the project site to the main road is about 300 metres.

“The upgrading of the road and parking lot will enable funeral arrangements to go on without much hiccups,” said Francis, who is also Simanggang assemblyman, on Sunday (Apr 25).

He added that the state government, led by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), always prioritise the needs of the people.

Also present during the visit was Engkujat Nganyak, the representative of the residents of the longhouses.
