KUCHING: The secrecy shrouding the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) meeting today has led to speculation following the issue discussed during the meeting.

PBB Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar who was reported by other media outlets to have attended the meeting refuted the reports.

“I do not know of any meeting, I was at the kawasan in Lundu (for the) whole day,” he said when contacted today.

Wan Junaidi said he was with Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu at a function in Lundu.

“Datuk Amar Jamilah was with me the whole day. (I) didn’t hear anything,” he said.

He, however, did not dismiss the stories fully, adding that the meeting which was reported to have been attended by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg might have a basis.

“Still, (it) may be true. Top leadership (attended the meeting). I do not know,” he said.

Besides Wan Junaidi, among the other PBB leaders reported to have attended the meeting were PBB deputy presidents and deputy chief ministers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

Members of the press who were invited to cover the function at 11am today were informed at the last minute that the meeting was to be held behind closed doors.
