KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, accompanied by officers from the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), has conducted a final inspection on Jalan Semaba.
The inspection took place after the appointed contractor notified that they had finished upgrading the existing earth drains to concrete drains, covering a length of 263 metres.
“The total cost of the contract was RM260,000. These drainage improvements were funded through Rural Transformational Project (RTP) under N12 Kota Sentosa,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Yap expressed his gratitude to MPP (implementing agency) and the appointed contractor during the final inspection. He commended them for finishing the works one month ahead of the scheduled completion date.
Responding to a request from local residents, Yap facilitated the funding and execution of the drainage upgrading project in Jalan Semaba.
The primary objective was to minimise the threat of flash flooding in the area.
Yap remains dedicated to a systematic and progressive approach in upgrading additional earth drains to concrete drains within Kota Sentosa constituency.
