LUNDU: Government grants amounting to RM102,000 under the Minor Rural Projects (MRP) have been distributed to three non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and 30 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in Tanjong Datu.

Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said allocations were to facilitate maintenance of village facilities and activities that benefit the residents.

“There are multipurpose halls actively used by the residents in my constituency, but some of the halls cannot be used because they are not well-maintained,” he said at the handing over of the MRP grant cum Gawai Dayak aid distribution to the community leaders here on yesterday.

He urged the recipients to utilise the grants for the maintenance of the multipurpose halls, ensuring their comfortable use in the future.

At the event, he also presented Gawai contributions to 24 community leaders and residents of Lundu District, as well as 26 individuals from the less fortunate group who will be celebrating Gawai Dayak in the following week.
