IGAN: Jemoreng assemblyman Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya recently joined officers from the Kampung Igan Health Clinic in carrying out the house-to-house vaccination programme in Kampung Igan.

The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) said through the programme, six senior citizens received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

They are Fatimah Suhai, 84, Hadiah Mustapha, 83, from Kampung Sekerang Igan; Haminah Zainudin, 82, fromKampung Baru Dagang Igan; Hassan Musa, 74, from Kampung Tengah Igan; Halma Mahsar, 77, from Kampung Pulau Igan; and Seman Manang, 87, from Kampung Baru Ismail Igan.

Juanda also presented contributions from the Igan Islamic Development Board to the recipients during the programme.

On a separate occasion, the assemblyman paid a brief visit to the Sungai Igan Erosion Control Project site.

The people’s project from the state government, involving a cost of RM3.9 million, is 29.44 percent ahead of schedule.

As of June 25, the project is 91.30 percent completed and in the process of undergoing final works.

The project was established to overcome the issue of erosion which has plagued Kampung Igan residents for a long time.
