
KAPIT: Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang officiated at a gathering at Rumah Johnny Nyengat, Nanga Aun, Sungai Sut in Baleh recently.
The function was organised by the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of the longhouse in collaboration with Pusat Khidmat Rakyat GPS-PRS N61 Pelagus here.
At the event Nyabong declared open the newly completed iron bridge from Sungai Sut to the longhouse, a cement walkway in front of the longhouse, a gravity feed water supply system and a public toilet.

He also approved a grant of RM5,000 to the Women Bureau of the longhouse to buy kitchen utensils and window curtains along the common verandah.
Accompanying Nyabong were a political secretary to the Chief Minister Nicholas Kudi Jantai, Walikota Kapit District Council Lating Minggang, Kapit Assistant Engineer Public Works Department Kilat Naipok, Temenggong Wilfred Billy Panyau, Pemanca Steward Sawing and Penghulu Daniel Dian.
On behalf of the JKKK, Tuai Rumah Johnny Nyengat welcomed Nyabong and his entourage to the longhouse.
He also thanked the GPS government led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for uplifting the living standard of the rural folk.
