KABONG: Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir presented food baskets to 2,450 homes in 25 villages in conjunction with the MCK 2021 Aidilfitri Touch programme.

Deputy chief of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kabong branch Alwie Sapalie said the programme aimed to express Chee’s gratitude to the people in the Kabong constituency.

“This is also a sign of his appreciation for the people’s support over the years.

“In this four-day mission, we managed to distribute donations to 2,450 homes, apart from 181 recipients who are frontline personnel,” he said here on Monday.

Alwie explained that although Chee found it difficult to meet the people due to the need to comply with the conditional movement control order (CMCO)standard operating procedures (SOPs), these contributions showed that he cared.

“Our hope at the Kabong People Representative Service Centre is that this contribution can cheer up   Muslims who will be celebrating Aidilfitri.

“This is proof that the current elected representatives do not leave the people alone during the CMCO.

“Together we pray that Covid-19 in the country and Sarawak disappears soon,” he said.

Although Kabong had become a green zone, he urged the people to continue abiding by the SOPs.

On behalf of PBB Kabong branch, Alwie wished all Muslims ‘Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri’.
