KUCHING: Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing hoped that more supply of Covid-19 vaccines would be channelled to the district.

He said with more supply given, more residents who have registered for the vaccines can be protected by the Covid-19 vaccine jab.

“I understand that every week there will be thousands of vaccines coming to the Sarikei Division.

“I hope all Meradong residents will be given the opportunity to receive the first dose of vaccine in the future,” he told the Sarawak Public Communications Unit on Thursday.

Earlier, he visited the Bintangor Community Hall vaccination centre (PPV) to monitor the vaccine rollout.

During the visit, he was pleased to find that many Meradong residents turned up to get their vaccine injections at the PPV.

He added this is important to stop the spread of Covid-19 in the district.

A total of 400 senior citizens from Meradong were called up to receive their vaccines on Thursday.
