BINTULU: Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming urged the contractors who are carrying out the project to build the Methodist Kindergarten fence here to speed up their work.

He said it was because the project has been delayed for two months from the due date.

“I have discussed with the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) and the contractor to speed up the construction of the fence at the Methodist Kindergarten because the project has been delayed by two months from the date the project was completed.

“Don’t merely inform me that a problem exists when I visit to monitor the project’s development. If I don’t show up to review, everything indicates that there is no issue.

“It should be reported in advance what problems are encountered so that we can jointly find a solution to avoid the project being delayed,” he was quoted as saying in a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).

He said this when reviewing the progress of the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) Anti-Climb Fence project at the Methodist Kindergarten and Methodist Cemetery as well as the project to build metal drain covers and iron fences for Taman Sutra here on yesterday (March 3).

He also hopes that the local authorities can help upgrade the drainage in front of the Methodist cemetery because the condition of it is not suitable, considering that the drainage in front of the Anglican and Roman Catholic cemeteries has been upgraded.

Also present was Bintulu PWD Assistant Engineer Ngu Tie Hwa.
