KUCHING: The upgrading of a drainage system and installation of a new culvert at Nyelong Bypass in Sarikei are underway.

The projects implemented by the Sarikei District Council covering a one-kilometre stretch were surveyed by Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii last Saturday.

He also conducted a survey on Jalan Tapah where a road-widening project is being implemented.

While doing so he reminded all councillors to carry out their duties well for the people.

Huang also visited Kuan Yin Temple and allocated RM15,000 to it under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for 2021 to upgrade the facilities. The temple also received RM10,000 under RTP 2019.

He then paid a visit to an Iban Methodist Church there, allocating RM50,000 under RTP 2021 for the upgrading of the facilities. A sum of RM100,000 was allocated to the church under RTP 2019.
