Talib speaks at the integrity event.

KUCHING: Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip wants the public to call him personally to report any corruption in the civil service.

He urged them, community leaders and civil servants, to direct any report of irregular practices to him so that the perpetrators could be swiftly brought to justice.

“If any of you hear of any hanky-panky and irregularities (in our administration), you can tell me. Here is my number, 012-898 3366,” he said at an integrity event (Mapi) in Miri yesterday.

Earlier, Talib said that Sarawak needed a good team of officers and civil servants with integrity who abided by the rule of law.

“This is our target, we will do more, we will not give up. Our hope is that we will have more officers with integrity, are honest, law-abiding and will not abuse their power by involving in corrupt practices.”

Talib said this was his pledge as the minister and also to support Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s vision for Sarawak to be a developed state by 2030.
