The two stateless young maidens from Long Singut who achieved 6As in SPM examination are now interns at Kapit R&DO.

KUCHING: The Kapit Resident and District Office has taken in as interns, two stateless girls from Long Singut who achieved 6As in the recent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.

Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing, who disclosed this today, said he was trying his best to get them and others with the same fate to be registered as Malaysians.

“There are 356 people just like them. Some are second and third generation born in Long Singut. To me it is a waste of talented human resource.

“That is why I took Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and relevant agencies to visit Long Singut today (August 5),” said the Baleh assemblyman.
