KUCHING: Residents from nine settlements in Kampung Melayu Bintangor received their Hari Raya gift in the form of a fruitcake.
The gift was presented by Tanjung Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab to enliven the Hari Raya spirit under the new normal.
Yusuf, when met on Friday, said the donation would be distributed to all heads of household in Bintangor.
“Hopefully this contribution can cheer us up for the Hari Raya celebration that will be celebrated soon,” he said.
Yusuf said that almost 6,750 gifts were donated throughout the Tanjong Manis parliamentary constituency covering the Semop and Kuala Rajang state constituencies within three days.
He also reminded all residents who will be celebrating Hari Raya to always abide by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the authorities.
Meanwhile, Kampung Melayu Bintangor community leader Rapen Angga thanked the MP for this contribution on behalf of the villagers.
