KUCHING: The residents of Kampung Segedup and Sungai Maong here are happy with the assistance provided under the minor rural project-repairs and rebuilding (MRP — PPRMS) programme implemented by the Sarawak government.

A recipient from Kampung Segedup, Hardy Sapiee, lamented that every time it rains, it would cause his the roof of his father’s house to leak.

“The roof of this house always leaks and is in a dilapidated condition. It cannot be used anymore, especially during rainy days.

“I am grateful for the assistance given, which will help us to repair the roof of this house,” he said when met at his residence in Kampung Segedup yesterday.

He also conveyed his appreciation to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg who is also the Satok assemblyman, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok branch deputy chairman Datuk Ibrahim Baki, and all those involved.

“We are very happy with the help we received,” he said.
