KUCHING: Residents in areas under lockdown can request for food supplies, medical assistance and other needs through the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said the department has special squads to deliver food supplies to areas under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

“Whether it is longhouses, villages or in the affected zones, our job is to help provide food supplies during the two week restriction order,” said Fatimah.

She gave the assurance during a symbolic handover ceremony of the ‘Sumbangsih Raya Gawai’ boxes at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here yesterday (April23).

Fatimah said the supplies would be provided according to the number of family members living in the house.

“They also need to inform us on other essentials, such as baby milk. If they need it, they have to inform what type of baby milk and we will provide them.”
