KAPIT: Kapit MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi is confident the Kapit electorate will continue to support Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) because of its people-centric policies.

Speaking to officiate at a ‘Leaders meet the people Session’ at Rumah Ngindang, Nanga Lun Ulu Sungai Bena, Sut, Baleh here, Tuesday, he said GPS state government led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has established the Upper Rajang Development Agency (Urda) to propel development in the area.

“Through Urda funds have been allocated and some projects have been tendered out. These projects are designed to benefit the people,” said Nanta, who is the adviser in the Chief Minister’s Office.

On the need to work with the federal government, Nanta said the state government will facilitate initiatives taken by Pakatan Harapan (PH) to help the people.

“Since the federal government is under PH, let us work with them for the good of the people but let us all be clear that the state government must remain with GPS and we Sarawakians must ensure Sarawak will continue to be ruled by GPS which is made of Sarawak-based political parties,” stressed Nanta.

“In the coming state election let us all vote for GPS candidates, Wilson Nyabong Ijang in Pelagus, Jefferson Jamit Unyat in Bukit Goram and Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing in Baleh,” he added.
