SIBU: The 171 fire victims of the 37-door Rumah Jungan in Mile 36, Tamin Selangau continue to receive the attention of various parties including Teresang Dayak Sibu.
Sympathising with the fate of the fire victims, Teresang Dayak Sibu came forward to offer donations to all the victims involved.
The donation was delivered by its chairman, Robinson Corey on Wednesday (Aug 31).
Robinson said the donation was one of the welfare activities of Teresang Dayak Sibu to help those in need.
“We hope that this donation will to some extent ease the burden and challenges faced by the victims in continuing to survive,” he said in a statement yesterday.
For the record, the incident happened around 6.58am last Tuesday (Aug 23), where a total of 171 residents of Rumah Jungan lost their homes after the 37-door longhouse was destroyed in a fire.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
Also present was the deputy chairman of Teresang Dayak Sibu, Natanael Sumping.
