BINTULU: Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip and his wife, Datuk Dr Zaliha Abdullah yesterday officiated at a Ramadan donation programme organised by the Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institutes (SFWI) Bintulu Division at the association’s building here.
In his brief speech, Talib applauded the SFWI members for holding such a programme to help the needy and ease their burden during the forthcoming Ramadan.
SFWI chairman Rasiah Dahlan thanked the federation members, friends and family members who had donated money and kitchen supplies for the needy.
Eighty poor families from Kampung Penan Muslim Batu 10, Kampung Jepak, Kampung Kuala Segan, Kampung Masjid, Kampung Sebiew, Kampung Datuk, Kampung Jabai, Kampung Assyakirin, RPR Sebiew, RPR Sibiyu, Kampung Baru will each receive a 10-kg packet of rice, kitchen supplies and RM50 cash.
