KUCHING: A female rider died of severe injuries following a two-vehicle crash along Jalan Datuk Tawi Sli here yesterday (Oct 22).
Kuching district police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the fatal accident, involving a lorry and a motorcycle, happened around 1.25pm.
The 21-year-old victim was riding her motorcycle alone from the city centre before she is said to have rear-ended a lorry at the scene.
As a result, the victim was thrown off her motorcycle where, she was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Her body was taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for a post-mortem.
Ahsmon stated that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
