MIRI: A 21-year-old GrabFood delivery rider sustained injuries after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle on Wednesday morning (Nov 17) along Jalan Wireless here.

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said police and ambulance were despatched to the scene after being alerted about the 11.10am incident.

“The injured rider has been taken to Miri Hospital for treatment,” he said, adding that the 42- year-old female driver was unharmed in the incident.

Alexson added, based on their initial investigations, the driver of the 4WD had suddenly exited a junction into the main road prior to the incident and collided with the oncoming motorcycle.

Before the collision, the motorcycle was heading towards Krokop from the city centre.

The case is being investigated under Road Traffic Rules 1959 LN 166/59 3(2).
