Rita meets voters in Selangau

SELANGAU: The Selangau candidate for Parti Raykat Sarawak (PRS) had a chance to meet her constituents here, yesterday.

Rita Sarimah Insol told her audience she was born and raised in Selangau, and had been a legal advisor to the Bintulu Port Authority (BPA).

Speaking at the official opening of the bridge with 4km of gravel road in Ulu Kakus, Rita said the RM22 million project has benefited 25 longhouses in the area.

She explained that she was also involved in the planting of oil palm. She had helped to form the Dayak Oil Palm Association (DOPA) and the Sarawak Dayak Iban Ladies Association Bintulu where she has been heading for the last 17 years.

“Wth my experience in NGO activities, I now hope to be a good legislator. So come May 9, I want your help to bring the first Dayak woman to Parliament,” she said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr. James Masing who was also present said Rita is an excellent speaker.

“Parliament will be in for a pleasant surprise when Rita makes her debut in the House after GE14.

Rita is facing PKR Sarawak chief, Baru Bian in a straight fight.
