RM1.3 mln allocated for infrastructure projects

BINTULU: A total of 13 rural transformation programme (RTP) projects amounting to RM1.33 million were allocated for areas in Bawan including Jalan Bukut, Begeri, Bukit Dinding and Pengkalan Lobang in Mukah, this year.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Sarawak Bumiputera Law and Customs), Datuk John Sikie Tayai, said since 2015, the RTP project has been able to greatly assist the implementation of infrastructure projects in the Kakus area, especially for longhouses, road upgrades and parking spaces among others.

He said this at an event to hand over the project documents for the upgrade of Jalan Rumah Juti anak Maga, Pengkalan Lobang, Bawan, Mukah to the appointed contractor.

The Kakus assemblyman said the RM100,000 project would benefit 22 households in the longhouse once constructions are completed.

Mukah and Dalat District Council (MDDM) assistant engineer Safina Mustapa, MDDM assistant engineer Nastasya Timorthy Arun, councillor Chuat Glong and councillor Augustine Manggang were among those present.
