RM1.3 mln Yayasan Raghad to help Sarawakians

KUCHING: A sum of RM1.3 million has been allocated for Yayasan Raghad which serves as a platform to care for the welfare of Sarawakians.

Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Seri Abdul Taib Mahmud contributed RM300,000 while his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib made a personal contribution of RM1 million to the Yayasan Raghad on Monday (Apr 12).

Yayasan Raghad aims to help needy families throughout the state as well as to pave the way to quality education for Sarawak born individuals who are active in the development of the state.

Contributions from caring corporate agencies and individuals are welcomed.

Also present during the handover ceremony at Demak Jaya were Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, Sarawak Legal Advisor Datuk Seri J C Fong and Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Datuk Wee Hong Seng.
