BALINGIAN: Kampung Kuala Balingian will soon get a new road.

According to Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM) engineer Jasmeer Zaisufir Sufian, a 45-metre long road is being built at a cost of RM100,000 under the rural transformation programme (RTP).

“The project will include the construction of a five-metre wide reinforced concrete crossover,” he said at the handing over of project site in Kampung Kuala Balingian here on Monday.

Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi, a former MDDM walikota, witnessed the simple ceremony.

The project, undertaken by local contractor Atop Enterprise, began on Nov 14 last year, and is expected to be completed within three months.

MDDM assistant engineer Safina Mustapa, ketua kaum Merjuki Sahari and Nur Hidayah Kassim from Mukah District Office also attended the event.
