SARATOK: As a token of support to members of 1Malaysia Club or Kelab 1Malaysia (K1M), Kalaka State Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz recently announced an allocation of RM12,000 to six K1M in Saratok District.

This fund is meant to implement their programmes effectively and giving positive impact to the villages and longhouses.

According to Wahab, K1M is able to assist the government in disseminating correct information on government policies to all levels of society. He made the comment when officiating at the club function held at Rumah Dayak in Saratok. A total of 200 members from six K1M IN Saratok District attended the function.

They were from K1M Pekan Saratok, K1M Kampung Melango Baru, K1M Kampung Sessang, K1M Kampung Melayu Roban, K1M Peligong Sebetan and K1M Temudok Krian. “Members of K1M play a very important role in telling to the community members correct and relevant information about government policies.

This is because any wrong and irrelevant information could result negatively,” he pointed out. Apart from that, Wahab also urged K1M members to ensure that their children obtain the best of education especially in the technical field in order to realise the government’s aspiration in making the young generation to be the main driver and assets in the nation’s future development.

Earlier, Betong Division Information Officer Roszilawati Nor Aziz reminded K1M members to cooperate and work actively among themselves in ensuring all their planned activities to achieve full success and benefitial to the community.

She urged members of K1M to refrain from disseminating fake news or information that could confuse the peoeple in society.

Any informat ion received should be properly studied and investigated before being disseminated to the public. A number of interesting activities were held during the event that started in the afternoon on that day.

These included exhibitions, dance and karaoke singing contests, quiz and others that were held from the start and ended late into the night. Also present during the programme were Saratok District Officer Mohd Ikmal Abdullah; Saratok head of Fire and Rescue Ser vices Depar tment Nazr y Mohamat; Senior Police Officer Inspector Dzifadrin Apin; Saratok Dist r ict Informat ion Of f icer Florence Sebastian Unting and local community heads.
