BINTULU: A total of RM129,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants has been disbursed to 11 village security and development committees (JKKKs) within the Kakus state constituency.
Senator Datuk Dr Nuing Jeluing, who handed over the funds last Saturday, also distributed 74 food baskets to JKKK Rumah Nuari, JKKK Rumah Nibang, JKKK Rumah Janting and JKKK Rumah Chalie.
The simple handover ceremony was held at Rumah Lukok, Sungai Bawang Selangau.
In his brief speech, Nuing reminded the people in the area to vote wisely in the coming 15th General Election, keeping in mind the socio-economic development of Selangau.
“Please do not make the same mistakes made in the last election. Choose a candidate that can serve you to transform this area (Selangau),” he said.
