ASAJAYA: Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang has handed over grants allocated for programmes and activities of mosque and surau management committees in Asajaya district for this year, amounting to a total of RM130,000.

The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported that the handover of the grants this time was divided into three phases involving 32 mosque and surau committees in Asajaya district, Samarahan and Stakan.

Rubiah said the grants were aimed at helping the relevant committees to hold programmes and activities, especially during Ramadan.

These grants were handed over at Dewan Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Abang Ikhwan Zaini here on Monday (Apr 12).

Rubiah hoped that the mosque and surau management committees would be able to use grants to foster unity among the local people.

In this regard, she also stressed to the management committees to always comply with the standard operating procedure (SOP) when carrying out programmes and activities in their respective areas.
