SPAOH: The new RM14 million sports complex here is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

The contractor’s workers are now putting the finishing touches.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah visited the complex, one of his “Projek Rakyat”, today.

He was accompanied by Betong District Council secretary Charlie Keling, a political secretary to Sarawak Premier Dr Richard Rapu and a community leader Penghulu Goh Leng.

The complex consists of one indoor and one outdoor stadiums.

The indoor stadium has a fully air-conditioned multi purpose hall with four badminton courts, seats for spectators, washrooms and a stage.

It can also accommodate about 150 tables when used as a dinner venue.

Facilities at the outdoor stadium consist of a fully synthetic running track, a football field, a grandstand and washrooms.

A field to host traditional top spinning or gasing competitions will be included later.

According to Charlie, the complex is expected to be open to the public sometime next month.
