RM140,000 donated to religious institutions

Asfia presents contribution to mosque representatives.

BINTULU: The State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, has donated RM140,000 to the mosque and surau management committees in the Kemena and Samalaju constituencies.

It was distributed with RM100,000 allocated to ten mosques, each receiving RM10,000. Additionally, eight suraus were given RM5,000 each, totalling RM40,000. This funding aims to support the management of these houses of worship in conducting various outreach activities.

During the event, Asfia emphasised the importance of community support for local leaders to ensure efficient development planning in their areas.

“I urge the community, especially in the constituencies, to provide precise and undivided support to the representatives of the people in their respective areas,” he said.

He also encouraged the Va’ie community to maintain unity and resist being swayed by the current political climate.

“Continue to strengthen brotherhood and not to be divided,” he added.

Also present were Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom, and Jepak Jaya Development Special Officer, Muhamad Ali Asfia.
