KABONG: Kabong Assemblyman, Mohd Chee Kadir presented MRP grants totaling RM149,500 to 23 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) in Kabong for the upcoming Raya Qurban celebration.
In his speech, Chee Kadir urged the JKKKs to play their roles by monitoring the peoples’ problems in their villages and longhouses.
He said the role of the JKKK was not just to lead the people under their charge but they should also move actively to develop their respective villages.
“I do not want inactive JKKKs in my area. They need to do something to bring changes and developments in their respective villages.
“If both the village and the longhouse are constantly developing and changing with time, it shows that the JKKK is very active,” he said during the grants presentation ceremony held here, yesterday.
He also emphasised the importance of the people’s continuous support to boost the development agenda in the state.
“The people should be grateful for development projects that have been implemented, those being planned and those to be implemented by the government in stages,” he said.
