KUCHING: Pending Assemblywoman Violet Yong and Special Assistant to Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen, Sim Kiat Leng donated a total of RM15,000 to Hng Nam Siang Tng yesterday morning.
Yong said the money from allocation of Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumerism Affairs, Chong Chieng Jen was meant to assist Hng Nam Siang Tng in its daily operations.
She said that earlier on, they had a dialogue Hng Nam Siang Tng committee and learned that they need RM600,000 annually to run the home for the elderly.
The home presently has 25 elderly residents and it also helps in funeral services for the poor and needy.
