RM166,700 in MRP grants distributed

MIRI: Seventeen minor rural projects (MRPs) worth RM166,700 were disbursed on Monday under the Sibuti parliamentary.

Present to hand over the grants was Cr Abdullah Jaini, who represented Sibuti member of parliament (MP) Lukanisman Awang Sauni as he was still in Kuala Lumpur for the Parliament sitting.

However, Lukanisman managed to greet the recipients via a video conference for 30 minutes before attending the Parliament session at 2.30pm.

Lukanisman, during the video conference, reminded the MRP grantees to use their grants wisely for the benefit of everyone under their associations or longhouses.

He said they can use the grants to build and upgrade infrastructures or fund association programmes.

The hand over ceremony was held at Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sibuti service centre at Taman Tunku here.

Those who received the grants were Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas (Pawe), Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Taman Tunku, Persatuan Melanau, IPG (teachers’ training institute) Miri, Rumah Lani Bangeng’s Women’s Bureau, JKKK (village security and development committee) Rumah Jembu, JKKK Kampung Riam Jaya, Persatuan Jatti Meirik Miri, Kelab Kebajikan Pendidikan Khas Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Anchi, Kelab Sukan Olahraga FD Miri, Tadika Bandar Peranginan, JKKK Kampung Hulu Sungai Tangit, Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan (SRK) Kelapa Sawit No 5’s parent-teacher association (PTA), JKKK Rumah Lani Kuap Sibuti, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Chung Hua Lumut, Kelab Rekreasi Warga kerja JPJ (Road Transport Department) Miri and SMK Subis.
