BALINGIAN: The cons t ruction of coastal road project in Kuala Serupai-Kuala Tatau Road and bridge across Kuala Tatau in Kampung Seberang which is worth more than RM200 million will boost the economy especially in Bintulu, which is famous for its heavy industry.

Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi said the coastal road project involved a distance of 76km as a whole. “ I t cove r s the road from Matadeng junction to Balingian as far as 31km, while the road from Kuala Balingian to Serupai is 15km and from Serupai to Tatau is 10km,” he explained when speaking to reporters after visiting the development of coastal road project here on Monday.

Julaihi said the coastal road project will be open to public after the final work of road safety and the completion of Kuala Tatau Bridge.

“This coastal road project will benefit all residents in the area and will connect those who around the area of Balingian, Mukah and Bintulu. And those who do business in the three areas can move around in a short period of time,” he said. He added that the coastal road project would closer their distance to Bintulu, Balingian and Mukah.

“This will bring benefit to the local people in the three areas and the economy especially in Bintulu, which is famous for the heavy industry,” he said. Earlier, Sarawak Public Works Department’s CRO project manager, David Wong said that the road construction project costing more than RM200 million is expected to be completed in November.

He said the project involved the construction of Kuala Serupai / Kuala Tatau Road and the construction of bridge across Kuala Tatau in Kampung Seberang.

“The project involves the construction of a single carriageway between the Serupai River and Kuala Tatau, two short bridges in Serupai River and Sigerut River and main bridge across Kuala Tatau in Kampung Seberang,” he explained.

Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi, Mukah deputy resident Jack Aman, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Faridah Osman and Kenil Jeraie were both present It seems to be impossible but it’s actually easy to solve a Rubik’s Cube using algorithms.
