KUCHING: A local woman was handed a fine of RM2,000 or spend six months in jail here today for punching her husband who did not allow her to name their son as guarantor to buy a car.

Businesswoman Ng, 39, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Zaiton Anuar.

According to the charge sheet, she had intentionally inflicted injury on her 46-year-old husband on July 29 at around 6.15 pm at a residence in Jalan Batu Kawa.

The cause of the dispute between them stemmed from her husband not allowing her to use the name of their 19-year-old son as a guarantor to buy a car.

The husband who suffered an injury on the cheek alerted the police.

The prosecution of the case was handled by Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang while Ng was not represented by a lawyer.
