PADAWAN: A Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant, amounting to RM20,000, has been approved for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Bowang.

State Transport Deputy Minister and Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr. Jerip Susil announced this when officiating at the Women’s Bureau and Youth Club of Kampung Bowang on Saturday.

Dr. Jerip highlighted the active participation of Women’s Bureau members in the Mambong area, who are contributing to household incomes through their involvement in small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

He specifically noted the success in three villages – Semadang, Punau, and Bowang – where women’s bureaus have launched food product lines including banana chips.

Dr. Jerip also reaffirmed his office’s commitment to support the bureaus in establishing SMEs, with potential areas including snack production, handicrafts, and more.

Present at the event were his wife, Datin Lee Chai Foong, and Kuching District Bidayuh Chief Raymond Jihap, among others.
