KUCHING: A sum of RM204,000 in home repair funds was allocated to the Puncak Borneo constituency under the Federal Local Government and Housing Ministry.
Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Willie Mongin said a total of 12 families had received their funds under the Home Improvement Assistance Programme.
“I am pleased to announce the approval of the Home Improvement Assistance Programme under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government for the year 2021.
“For everyone’s knowledge, the Home Improvement Assistance Programme is under the supervision of the Local Authority which is appointed as the implementing body.
“The ceiling price for 2021 is RM17,000.00 for each house,” he said in a Facebook post Wednesday (Aug 4).
Willie said currently, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government did not provide funds for the construction of new homes like the Rural Development Ministry (KPLB).
“The approval of the Home Improvement Assistance Programme for the Puncak Borneo parliamentary constituency this year is for 12 families,” he said.
Willie said the families were from several villages in the constituency, namely, Kampung Bra’ang Payang, Kampung Bangau, Kampung Sitang and Kampung Seratau.
“I would like to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Federal Local Government and Housing Minister. Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin, her ministry, Sarawak government and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) as the implementing agency.
“Congratulations to all the families who have received help to repair their houses. I hope with this help, it can give comfort to all of you.
“We will continue to work hard for the survival and well-being of the people in Puncak Borneo,” he said.
