Nyabong, in his brief remark, revealed that this batch of  25 recipients received grants which amounted to RM204,600.

“All Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and JKKKs (Village Security and Development Committees)   in Pelagus are to receive the MRP grants. All the PTAs in my Pelagus state constituency will receive the annual grant to promote quality education. There are 13 primary schools in Pelagus Constituency.

“My strategy is to promote quality education. I put aside ten (10) percent of the total MRP funds for  education purposes. That is why I want feedbacks from  schools on how to improve public examinations results. If the schools want  to organise motivation camps or seminars, they can always apply  for funds from me for the purpose. If they need printers or paper, come to see me. My strategy is to work closely with the schools to produce as many UPSR straight A  students.

“After that, other government agencies can look after these bright students in their studies. MARA is one of the agencies that can help them to enrol   at the MARA Junior College,” explained Nyabong.

He added that he had received a circular from the Ministry of Education Sarawak on the school adoption programme to promote the speaking of English.

“I leave it to the school in my constituency to decide which school I adopt. In this context, I appeal  to all headmasters to treat this urgently and tell me why their particular school needs to be adopted.”

Present together at the function were the Walikota of Kapit District Council, Philimon Nuing, Penghulu Wong Kie Ing and Penghulu Daniel Dian.
