RM250k allocated to upgrade venue for Limbang’s ‘Badudun’ festival

LIMBANG: A sum of RM250,000 from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) has been earmarked to enhance the venue for the ‘Badudun’ festival and water buffalo race, organised by the Limbang Malay Association.

Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail assured that RTP funds would be utilised to upgrade the field, futsal court, and surroundings to ensure a successful event.

“During the visit, we considered several requests from the hosts. Alhamdulillah, this year we will use RTP allocation to upgrade the field, futsal court, and surroundings of the Badudun festival site to ensure the smooth running of the festival.”

He made these remarks after inspecting preparations at Kampung Lubok Piasau for the upcoming May festival on Tuesday (Feb 27).

Limbang Division Resident Unus Tambi accompanied him during the visit. They later visited the Limbang Town Square project site.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the Bukit Kota assemblyman, addressed delays in the Limbang Town Square Project, urging contractors to expedite work for completion by April 15, 2024.

Additionally, he cautioned Limbang residents about the hot weather, citing reports from the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

Representatives from various agencies attended the site visits, emphasising the collaborative effort behind these projects.
