SIMANGGANG: A fund of RM250,000 was allocated for the upgrading of the Kampung Hulu main road that stretches up to 300 metres.

The allocation was given by Lingga assemblywoman Simoi Peri, who said that such Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project is one of the projects that the people have been waiting for.

“The project to upgrade the main road in Kampung Hulu involves widening the road.

“It is hoped to provide more comfort and convenience to local residents,” she said while inspecting the road site here on Friday.

The project will be implemented in the near future and is expected to be completed within three months, she explained.

The tender process and balloting for the project will be handled by the Sri Aman Division Resident’s Office.

Simoi said the Sarawak government is committed to providing comfort to the people both in urban and rural areas.

She added that the implementation of this project also proves that the RTP project has a big impact in changing the landscape of an area.
