DALAT: A total of 14 bodies and organisations here received minor rural project (MRP) grants totalling RM284,500.

The recipients are 12 village development and security committees (JKKK) and two non-governmental organisations — Malaysian Islamic Welfare Organisation (Perkim) Dalat and Dalat District Headmasters Council.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah handed over the cheques to the recipients at a simple ceremony here today (May 5).

Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, said the grants were for development projects such as building cement and concrete roads, building or repairing plank walks and pontoon, installing solar lamps and others.
